IAC PTA Overall Fundraising Mission
We have an active and engaged PTA at Irwin and look forward to your participation. Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) are a powerful voice and resource for families and communities, and strong advocates for the education and well being of children. The PTA is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit association and membership in the PTA is open to anyone who wants to be involved and make a difference. Among other benefits, your PTA membership will allow you as parents be an active voice in the decision making process towards the programs and opportunities the PTA supports throughout the year. Our Irwin PTA works to provide the means to help our children, teachers, and staff experience “Imagination, Innovation, Inspiration” on a daily basis.
A strong PTA is an essential element to support a “School of Excellence.” To meet the needs of our bright children and their dedicated instructors, both monetary and volunteer support is needed.

It's that time of the year again - Wise Owl October! Every fall, we look forward to our families and students actively participating in our biggest fundraising event of the year. This month-long campaign includes a variety of activities to raise money for the PTA's tremendous support of our school--whether through school improvement projects, training for teachers, classroom supplies and equipment, or events and programs for our students.

Our school is diverse in so many wonderful ways. While some of our families can write a big check, many of our families cannot. Because our PTA is for everyone, we are committed to including a variety of options for families to provide financial support that will positively impact all of our children. We are grateful for every donation--no matter the form--and encourage you to participate as much or as little as you can throughout the month, so long as you INVEST IN THE NEST!

As a non-profit organization, our PTA is 100% fueled by the generosity of our community. We use our funds for benefit the educational and social needs of the students, families, teachers, and staff at Irwin Academic Center. In SY23-24, we are projected to spend $473 per student to enhance their educational experience.

Here are just some of the things that are POWERED BY THE IRWIN PTA!
- Partnership with Discovery Place Science to enhance science education;
- Providing supplies for the Art Club to ensure that students can participate free of charge;
- New 3-D printers in the Innovation Lab;
- Literacy resources to improve reading fluency in comprehension and support the new literacy facilitator model;
- Monthly meals and/or gifts to show our appreciation for all 55 members of the Irwin faculty (teachers, staff, and administrators)
- Schoolwide, child-centered events and activities to create lasting memories;
- SEL resources for EACH classroom to benefit the development of all children;
- Revitalization and maintenance of the grounds on our historic campus.
